Honorary members

Rajan Bharti Mittal is the vice-chairman and managing director of Bharti Enterprises, a group founded by his brother Sunil Bharti Mittal in 1976 – with diversified interests ranging from mobile telephony to supermarkets, financial services to food processing, and satellite TV to the real estate market – which has a turnover of more than US$8 billion.

In his previous capacity as president of the FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) Rajan Bharti Mittal substantially contributed to boosting business relations between Italy and India, and also fostered stepped-up collaboration between the Indian and Italian employers’ associations. This was implemented via a series of business delegation exchanges – coinciding with ministerial visits and also during special events promoted by the two associations – which turned out to be highly successful and helped to relaunch bilateral economic and commercial relations.

Rajan Bharti Mittal is a member of various business and management associations, such as the North India Chamber of Commerce and the Board of the All India Management Association.

He is also a member of the Bharti Foundation, a humanitarian organisation that promotes education and assistance for children in need.
